This course introduces students to the ethical, regulatory, and safety standards that form the foundation of a professional hairstyling career. Through a blend of theory and guest speakers, students will explore workplace legislation, infection control, emergency response, and the importance of inclusive and ethical conduct in the salon environment. Emphasis is placed on real-world application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, public health guidelines, and professional ethics. Students will also learn strategies to maintain their own physical and mental wellness, contributing to career longevity in the industry.
